About Us
Falconwood Preschool was set up roughly 25 years ago and was first based above the Co-Op at The Green at Falconwood . About 5 years ago in May 2014 I took over as a temporary manager and then bought the setting in 2014. I have worked within the childcare sector for 16 years firstly as a volunteer in a preschool then after gaining my NVQ3 in Childcare learning and development, i worked at another pre school where i stayed for 12 years.
I re-registered the setting as Falconwood Preschool as I feel that this reflects that we are more than a just a playgroup.The children flourish within our setting and are happy within their environment. We are governed by Ofsted and follow the values as set out within the Early Years Framework.We try to ensure that the children upon leaving us will go onto their schools,nurseries or reception with confidence and looking forward to their next chapter.
We also provide high quality teaching and learning experiences that enable child to develop at their own pace emotionly, socially and intellectually.

Falconwood preschool promotes diversity to all faiths and cultural beliefs which the children can be enriched with whilst learning.
We also promote strong partnerships with parents of the setting either through Tapestry (online learning journey), newsletters and a closed facebook account that is only open and visible to parents.We find this parent /preschool partnership invaluable to the parents and the child for regular updates on the children’s progress through play.

Our Ethos
Falconwood Preschool, we aim to provide an environment for children aged 2-5 that is safe, welcoming and caring as well as free from discrimination and prejudice.
We believe that every child is special and unique and our aim is to create an environment full of stimulating learning activities that are not only fun, but catered to each child’s individual needs.

This stage of a child’s learning and development should be interesting and enjoyable which is why we place a strong emphasis on learning through play. Our goal is to plan and provide activities and learning opportunities to develop your child’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual skills to their fullest potential.
At the end of their time with us at Falconwood Preschool, they will be confident, resilient, capable and self assured before their transition to Reception.
